Tanghulu Master is about making the candied fruit skewers from the name: stack the fruit, coat it in hot syrup, let the shell set, then hear it crack. The first surprise was how much of the game is the audio. The crack of the sugar shell is the payoff for every skewer, and Whoyaho has tuned it so well that I turned my volume up in public.
What keeps you going is the calm loop and the small variations in it. Each step is short: choose ingredients, skewer them, swirl the syrup in the wok, coat, cool, crack. The trick is a thin, even coating, and the game rewards patience over speed. The story frame, Lulu reviving her parents' tanghulu shop through a mukbang livestream, gives the skewers a reason to exist.
The complaints: there's no difficulty here, and I never found a way to fail a skewer. If ASMR does nothing for you, this is a craft demo with a story attached. And people search for codes and secret recipes that I saw no sign of in this version.
Play it if you like satisfying-video content and want to make it yourself for ten minutes. Skip it if you need a score or a challenge; there isn't one and it doesn't pretend otherwise.

- Sound on, headphones if you can. This game is half audio. Without the crack, it's a slideshow.
- Thin coating, one pass. The master's trick is a thin, crisp shell. Don't re-dip; a thick coat just looks heavy and cracks dull.
- Let it set. Rushing the cooling step is the one way to make the shell look wrong. Wait for it.
- Try the odd ingredients. The app's description promises things like earth jelly and hot red pepper alongside fruit. If they're on the menu, the weird ones are the fun ones.
- Stop while it's still nice. It's a calm game, and calm games sour when you grind them. Three skewers and out is the right dose.
Tanghulu Master codes, secret recipes and the wiki
Most of the searching around this game is for codes, secret codes and recipe lists: parfait recipes, mini mart combos, K-lunch, picnic, ice cream. Those come from the mobile game, where the menus have grown a long way past fruit on a stick, and people go looking for a wiki about them. The YouTube version is the tanghulu part, and I didn't find a code box in it.
My advice is not to bring the checklist. Make the skewers, listen to the crack, try whatever unusual ingredient shows up, and treat the recipe hunting as a mobile hobby if you get into it there.
