Chicken Merge puts a merge board at the front of a base. Enemies come in waves, you drop chickens on the field, and dragging two identical chickens together makes one stronger unit. The first thing I felt was the pull between two urges: merge now for a bigger hitter, or keep the numbers up so nothing slips past. That tension is the game.
What keeps you playing is that each wave is slightly meaner than the last, so the answer that worked five waves ago stops working. I lost my first run around the point where I had one huge chicken and nothing on the flanks. The second run I spread out and lasted much longer. Runs are the right length, ten to fifteen minutes before it gets out of hand, and the restart is instant.
Complaints: the merge board is small and it fills up quickly, so late waves are more about frantic dragging than planning. Enemy variety is limited. And there is no clear end, which suits a score chase but not everyone.
Play it if you like Merge Dragons-style boards but want something to happen at the end of them. Skip it if you want a calm merge game; this one is not calm.

Tips for surviving more waves
- Merge in pairs, not chains. Building one giant chicken left my flanks empty. Two mid-tier units in the right lanes did more than one monster.
- Fill the lane the wave is coming from. Watch where enemies enter and put your merges there. The board is small; use the position, not just the tier.
- Keep one empty slot. A full board means you cannot place the next chicken. Merge something just to keep a slot free.
- Merge between waves, place during them. Dragging during a wave is when I dropped a chicken in the wrong spot. Do the tidy work in the gap.
Chicken Merge vs Merge Cannon: Chicken Defense
People search both, so here is how I see it. Merge Cannon-style games put the merging on a rack of turrets and the enemies on a road; the merge is the upgrade menu. Chicken Merge keeps the merging on the field itself, so every merge also changes your positioning, and that is why it feels more like a tower defense with a merge twist than a merge game with a tower defense skin. If you want a relaxed upgrade loop, the cannon games are easier. If you want the wave pressure to actually push on the board, this one is sharper.
