Is YouTube Playables still available?

Short answer: yes. TubeGames checks the public catalog every day — here is the live status and why so many articles wrongly say Playables was discontinued.

Yes — YouTube Playables is live. 1,780 games in the public catalog as of Oct 10, 2026.

Why people think Playables shut down

In March 2024 YouTube ended its original Premium-only Playables experiment, and tech sites ran headlines like «YouTube is shutting down Playables». Those articles still rank in search — but they are about the old experiment. In May 2024 YouTube relaunched Playables free for everyone, and the catalog has been growing ever since. TubeGames re-counts the full public catalog every day, so the numbers on this page are current, not archived.
