Master Checkers is checkers with nothing bolted on. Diagonal moves, jumps to capture, a piece that reaches the far row becomes a king and moves both ways. The first thing I felt was how quickly it got out of the way: tap a piece, tap a square, play. No tutorial, no currency, no timer nagging you.
What keeps you playing is that checkers is a better game than people remember. Around the middle of a match the board tightens, every move opens a jump for someone, and the computer opponent is sharp enough that I lost my first two games by walking into double captures. The App Store version from the same studio, Code This Lab, offers play against the CPU, a second player on the same device or an online opponent; the YouTube copy is the place to test your game against the machine.
Complaints: the presentation is basic, the board is small on a phone, and there is nothing to unlock or track. The App Store listing says it uses Italian checkers rules, which differ slightly from the American ones, so if a move you expected is refused, that is why.
Play it if you want a real board game in a browser. Skip it if you need progression or flashy pieces.

Master Checkers is a straight version of the board game. Pieces move diagonally, you capture by jumping over your opponent, and a piece that reaches the far row is crowned and can then move in both directions.
There are no extras layered on top - it is the game as you already know it, which makes it a decent way to spend a few minutes on something that needs thinking. It runs inside YouTube free with no download. Good for board game fans and for teaching someone the rules without setting up a real board.

Captures are the whole game; every move is about who is forced to jump into whose trap next.
Tips for beating the computer
- Keep your back row home. Those pieces stop the computer from crowning. I lost my first game by advancing them early.
- Force the jump. If a capture is mandatory, offer one piece so the computer's jump lands where you can take two.
- Move in pairs. A lone piece is a target. Advance so the piece behind covers the one in front.
- Trade when ahead. With one extra piece, every even trade makes your edge bigger. Simplify the board.
- Aim for the center. Edge pieces are safe but they do nothing. Center pieces threaten both sides.
Master Checkers on YouTube vs Poki and the app
Same Code This Lab game that people find on games sites and on the App Store as Master Checkers Multiplayer, which came out in 2018. The YouTube Playables copy runs inside youtube.com with nothing to install, and that also means it usually opens on school networks where games sites are filtered. If you want to play online against strangers, the App Store version lists online matches; the YouTube copy is the quickest way to get a game against the computer going in two taps.
Italian rules, briefly
The App Store listing says the game uses Italian checkers. The board and the diagonal moves look like the checkers you know, but a few moves you expect may be refused, mostly around what a regular piece is allowed to capture. If a jump you want is not lit up, it is the rule set, not a bug. It took me a game to adjust and after that it played like checkers.
