Ball Blast is a cannon on the bottom of the screen that never stops firing. You slide it left and right; the aiming is the moving. Numbered balls bounce down toward you, each shot chips the number, and at zero the ball bursts into smaller balls with smaller numbers. My first run lasted about as long as that sentence; I got greedy on a big one and a small one landed on my head.
The loop is coins and levels. Clearing a level pays coins, coins go into the usual cannon upgrades, and the next level starts with bigger numbers. That's it, and it's enough for a while because the balls arc on predictable bounces and you start reading them. Big balls first, then mop up. A run ends the moment anything touches the cannon, and the restart is instant.
The complaints: it's thin. One screen, one enemy type in different sizes, and the upgrades are a number going up rather than a new toy. The difficulty flattens once your cannon outpaces the level, so the middle is more waiting than dodging. A fine five minutes and a poor fifty.
If you liked Asteroids, or anything where big things split into small ones, you'll get it in one round. If you want variety, it isn't here.

Tips for surviving the big balls
- Shoot the big one first. Its children are what kill you, and you want them born while there's still room to move.
- Sit under the bounce, not the ball. Balls arc. Park where it's coming down, not where it is now, and the cannon does the rest.
- Never stop at the wall. Pinned against an edge is how I died most. Keep to the middle third so you can dodge either way.
- Spend the coins right away. A cannon one upgrade behind the level is a run that ends early. Buy before you replay.
Ball Blast vs Asteroids
The bones are Asteroids: shoot a big thing, it splits into smaller things, and the smaller things are the danger. Ball Blast takes away your ship's rotation and thrust and leaves you a cannon on a rail, which sounds like a loss and is actually the point. With one axis to worry about, the game becomes pure prioritizing, which ball gets the shots before it lands on you.
It's less of a game than Asteroids, no question. It's also a better fit for a phone in one hand, and it costs nothing here. If you want the full arcade experience, go find a cabinet; if you want the reflex part in a coffee break, this does it.
